United Party for National Development secretary general Steven Katuka has charged that the Patriotic Front government is has no capacity to rule the country.

Speaking when he appeared on panafrican radio’s program dubbed ” news feedback”, Mr Katuka says the PF government is dividing the nation by engaging in ethnic cleansing through firing civil servants who are perceived to be coming from particular regions.

He says Zambians need to embrace each other regardless of their ethnic background. He says for development to thrive, there is need for unity in the country.

He further says the level of high unemployment levels in Zambia are a clear demonstration of a failed leadership.

Mr Katuka says Zambia is endowed with a lot of resources and to complain about high poverty levels is a matter of leadership crisis.

He says the agricultural sector is facing challenges because there is lack of good management of the sector by the Patriotic Front government.

He has charged that late delivery of agro-inputs and lack of agricultural skills in the PF government leadership has created a crisis in the country.

Mr Katuka has also accused the Zambia Police service of drifting away from their primary role and are now advancing a partisan agenda in favor of the ruling party. He says the police are paid through tax payers money and thus should serve the interests of the citizens.

On the UPND petition, Mr Katuka says the entire UPND and the nation is waiting for justice from the court of law.

He charged that whatever is happening in the court of law is setting a precedence in Zambia’s legal process.

He says the law must take its course by allowing the UPND matter to be heard by the court so that Zambians can know what happened on the 11th august 2016 elections.

And commenting on the PF protests against the Law Association of Zambia , mr katuka says the act by PF cadres at the LAZ offices is absolute lawlessness which should not be tolerated.

He says there are better ways of resolving misunderstandings and not going to the street when things do not go your way.He says PF is behaving as though they are above the law.

  2. Is there a different meaning for ruling in UPND? PF is already ruling. This is their 6th year in power.
The country is being divided by regions that vote for one party only such as in Dundumwezi and NW province.
Other regions give all players reasonable number of votes.
You may not like PF but they are right now in power and ruling. Unless you change your approach to politicks they will continue ruling beyond 2021.

  4. …….but they are ruling, under the able leadership of His Excellency, Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia.

It is UPND that does not have the capacity to rule, because we the people are always rejecting you…..and we shall continue rejecting you
