Goals from Shadreck Musonda, Walter Bwalya and an own goal from Arafat Ilunga saw Nkana cement their fourth position on the log after beating Forest Rangers 3-1 at Nkana Stadium in a Week 34 match of the FAZ Super League on Sunday.
Forest defender Arafat opened the scoring when he inadvertently headed in a Ronald Kampamba cross on 24th minute.
Bestone Chambeshi’s men were 2-0 up on four minutes later when Kampamba’s defense-splitting found Musonda who stroked the ball into the bottom corner.
Striker Walter Bwalya added a brilliant third on 40 minutes, controlling a long ball before lobbing the ball over the head of the Forest keeper to take his goal tally this season to 11.
In the second half, Rangers came out strong and their pressure paid off in the 53rd minute when Logic Ching’andu’s freekick came back off the post and fell kindly to Webster Muzaza who stabbed the ball home to make it 3-1.
The Ndola outfit suffered a major setback in the second half after defender Masautso Zimba was sent off for a second bookable offense.
Despite being a man down, Forest put up a stellar performance and created some decent chances.
Sunday’s result means ‘Kalampa’ remain fourth on the log with 59 points while Rangers sit on 11th position with 46 points.
Nkana will travel to Lusaka on November 18 to take on Red Arrows in the Week 35 fixture.
