Lusaka City Council opens books of condolences for late Mayor

Lusaka, Wednesday, May 16, 2018. The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has opened books of condolences for the departed Mayor Mr. Wilson Chisala Kalumba who died yesterday at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) after an illness.

The books have been placed at the Mayor’s Parlour, at Nakatindi Hall and at the funeral house which is number 42 Chitemene Road, off Manchinchi road, Northmead.

The decision to open books in three different locations is to allow as many members of the public as possible to sign and write messages of condolences.

Members of the public wishing to sign the book of condolences could visit the location of their convience.

So far the Republican Vice President, Mrs. Inonge Mutukwa Wina, Local Government Minister, Vincent Mwale and former Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata have already signed the book of condolences at the funeral house.

LCC has also opened a bank account for organisations and individuals wishing to make financial contributions towards the funeral.

This is meant to enhance accountability of funds contributed.
