Opposition UPND president Hakainde Hichilema has charged that President Edgar Lungu will have to leave office in August whether he likes or not.

Hichilema commonly known as HH said President Lungu must start preparing to leave in August when the country goes to the polls.

“Lungu is going whether he likes it or not. He must start packing,” HH told cheering crowd in Choma.

He vowed to take Lungu on and ensure that he leaves office when Zambians vote him out.

The UPND leader said Zambians had suffeted enough due to poor leadership. He said Lungu’s time in State House was numbered and urged him to enjoy the remaining days.

HH called for those who had not registered as voters to do so and turn up in numbers on the voting day.

The UPND leader who was accompanied by his two Vice presidents was in Choma to meet all aspiring candidates from Southern province.

And HH told hundreds of Choma residents who gathered at Choma Sports Club that the UPND’s target is to eradicate poverty.

He said it is unfortunate that the PF is directing Zambia Police to harass innocent individuals who want to listen to messages of how together we can build a better Zambia.

In reference to the brutal beatings and shootings by the Police on Choma residents who had gathered to receive him and his team, Hichilema said that only a party that is losing elections would resort to instilling fear in the people.

Meanwhile, the UPND President has called on the people of Choma and across the country to remain peaceful despite the economic challenges they were going through.

Speaking at the same occision, UPND Vice-President for Administration Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba said it is clear that only a President like Hakainde Hichilema would save Zambia’s economy.

And his counterpart, Dr Canisius Banda adds that Zambia is a unitary State and that people must reject PF as it is perpetuating divisions.

The UPND President and his team have since left for Lusaka, after meeting it’s supporters and aspiring candidates in Southern Province.

The UPND leadership was in Choma as part of the countrywide party mobilisation meetings aimed at harmonising aspirants and insuring unity and peaceful elections ahead of 2016.

  9. PF is gone coz of their tribal and blasphemus talk through Mr Kambwili,Mumbi Phiri and the shooter Davis Chama. We have never experienced such tribal and hate speeches in this country like it has happened and condoned by Mr Load shedding Chagwa EL during his one year tenure.

    • nshilimubemba, you are what you have said about our president, that is the reason he is becoming unpopular, it’s not what you have written that will save the nation, but the economic status of the nation, people lives will not improve because he is humble but the growth in our economy, things will not run smoothly because he is known by the masses, but his leadership skills. So its not who he is but what he has and will do to improve the economic situation in the nation.Less will all suffer at the mercy of been humble, not been a suspect, been liked by the majority and been well known.

  21. Sad to read the comments above. It is tribalism through and through. And it is not from HH but from those supporting PF!! Just compare what HH said in Choma and elsewhere. There is no hint of tribe in.it. If Mazoka was what they are saying he was why did the same people not vote for him in 2001. This kind of rubbish talk is just nauseating. WhY should HH not express confidence? President Lungu has said time and again that there will be no rerun because he will get 70 percent. What is wrong if his main opponent makes a counterclaim? Clearly between you and HH you are the satanists.

One painful thing is that, the people who were Sata’s enemies are the one who have succeeded him.the MMD we voted out because of their pocket issue, have taken it again by force.all this is because Zambians we are not serious with what we do.HH get ready.you are going there.don’t disappoint us please.remember Guy Scort when you get there.I’m a bemba man of course,I dont waste time singing the song of tribalism, I gain nothing out of it.we have bembas in southern province, tongas in northen province, more over my wife is Nyambe Nyambe and we love each other so much, till death do…. what can you tell me.continue wasting you precious time on tribalism which will take you no where.lets just wake hard and take our country forward. one Zambia one nation.

  24. HH if there is another big mistake you have made is to form an alliance with Fred the Post. You were better of the way you were. Don’t you know that Zambians now know that Fred is not the way he portrays himself. He is after all is not a good person he is a tax evader and can manipulate Presidents for his benefits. So HH people even know you as selfish person who does not share his riches with the poor so this makes you give more room for your opponents to say a lot of things to make you lose. Come back to your senses you appear to be an alternative if ECL doesn’t change the way of running his PF and govt. Divided party.

  27. But hh is a disgrace how do you say Zambians have suffered enough due to bad leadership infact you are the worse off, because if you where a good leader you would have advised chiluba not to sell all the government owned companies or at least sell 50% but because you had your own agenda you benefited, this is unfair of you hh.
Leadership comes from God and i see ECL winning the August election, hh you need to repent for belonging to a occult organization and confess your short comes each wise forget, We will see let’s wait.
