Kambwili falls sick in Police cell, rushed to hospital

Detained National Democratic Alliance (NDC) shadow leader Chishimba Kambwili was this evening rushed to the hospital.

Kambwili was arrested Thursday morning, charged with two counts of obtaining pecuniary advantage and 37 counts of being in possession of money reasonably suspected to the proceeds of crime.

He was thrown into cells as he was denied a police bond.

In the evening, he was reported sick and had to be rushed to the hospital. His party claimed the state was scheming to poison him, the allegation he also made last week.

But press time he was being attended to by his doctor at a private hospital, CFB in Lusaka.

“Dr. Kambwili is currently at CBF Hospital where he is being attended to by medical doctors.

We appeal to all members and supporters of NDC countrywide to remain calm and keep our Political Consultant in prayers,” Chris Zumani Zimba, Special Advisor to Kambwili said this evening.

Kambwili who is Roan constituency Member of Parliament is expected to appear in court tomorrow.

    • I fail to understand how everything to a Zambian becomes a joke. Lungu and his friends are busy plundering national resources and you joke about it. Land is being taken from you and given to foreigners and yet you joke about it. Dimwits !!!!

  3. Kambwili tone down and be careful. Opposition politics in hopeless basket countries like Zambia is about strategy, not kubwabwata all over the shore the way you’re doing. Waona manje you’re pretending to be sick. Avoid being cornered by ruling party in Zambia. Remember Dean Mungomba (RIP).

  4. Where is your Christianity if you cannot even sympathize with someone who is ill? There is no way I can go back to this religion because it is empty, I do not need it to navigate this world. There is nothing I can learn from Christianity that I cannot get from a rational outlook on life and the world.
