HH waves at the crowd

The UPND says as far as it is concerned it’s leader Hakainde Hichilema remains the winner of the Zambia August 11 presidential election unless the court rules otherwise.

Munali constituency UPND Aspiring candidate Doreen Mwamba in responding to State House spokesperson Amos Chanda says Hichilema won the elections outright.

Chanda on Sunday went for Hichilema saying he was misleading the world that his election victory had been stolen by the PF. Chanda said Edgar Lungu won in six out of 10 provinces and wondered why the UPND was claiming he won the elections.

Chanda said no election observer had disputed Lungu’s re-election and he has challenged Hichilema to state how many votes were stolen from him.

But in response, Mwamba who has successfully petitioned and caused the nullification of PF Member of Parliament Prof Nkandu Luo’s election.

Below is Mwamba’s statement in full:

On behalf of the People of Munali constituency, and indeed on my own behalf including our party UPND, I wish to inform the nation that Mr Hakainde Hichilema, President of the UPND won the 2016 elections outright.

And we the people of Munali, would like to set the record straight that contrary to insinuations that PF and Mr Edgar Lungu won the 2016 elections, he did not win and that their victory claim is a fallacy.

The People of Munali constituency petitioned the declaration of Nkandu Luo as the duly elected MP after presenting facts before the court and the overwhelming evidence of how the PF had stolen the votes led to the seat being nullified.

The nation must therefore be reminded that part of the evidence in the presidential petition is bundled in the same petition facts which saw Munali being nullified.

Therefore it is utter day light dreaming for State House supporting staff like Mr Amos Chanda to mislead the nation that President Hakainde Hichilema of the UPND did not win elections.

Fellow citizens, one does not need magicians to know who the winner of the 2016 elections is between Mr Edgar Lungu and Mr Hakainde Hichilema.

This is why we in the UPND and the people of Munali constituency are insisting that our presidential petition must be heard and not subjecting citizens to lies.

We the people of Munali and indeed the whole country know that Hakainde Hichilema is President unless the courts disposes off our presidential petition and declare who won the elections.

Munali is one constituency with presidential petition facts or indeed evidence and the PF is aware that they lost the August elections hence having their falsely acclaimed victory in Munali nullified.

In any case, why is State House including Mr Amos Chanda panicking over our non acceptance of Mr Edgar Lungu as President?

Hear the Presidential petition and not claiming that you won, when in fact you did not.

  2. PF are being dared to prove in Court that Lungu their Candidate won the 2016 Presidential Elections.Lungu and Amos Chanda have been claiming that Lungu won so its time PF produce evidence in Court showing how Lungu won. Lungu himself claimed that Luapula Provincial votes had made him win and meet the 50% + 1 vote threshold. Amos claimed Lungu won in 6 Provinces compared to HH’s 3 Provinces. Lungu should present this Evidence in Court and the Court based on this evidence will declare Lungu the Winner of the 2016 Election.Lungu is being accused of having stolen HH’s Election Victory. Lungu should clear his name and demonstrate to the Zambian Nation that he is Not a Vote Thief and he won the Election outright and hands down. If Lungu fails to prove this in Court then he will have confirmed that he indeed lost the Election and HH won. The onus is on Lungu to prove to the Zambian people that he was truly, democratically, legally and Constitutionally elected and inaugurated President.

      • @Sharon MULENGA. I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS FOR YOU.
1.IF THERE IS EVIDENCE IN WHAT YOU ARE CLAIMING, DO YOU SURELY NEED MORE THAN 14 DAYS TO PROVE YOUR CASE?
        2. IF THERE WAS EVIDENCE IN THOSE CLAIMS, WHY DID THE LAWYERS FOR HH DECIDE TO IGNORE SUCH ALLEGATIONS AND NEVER PRESENTED THEM BEFORE THE CONCOURT? INSTEAD THEY WENT AROUND FISHING FOR GROUNDLESS PRELIMINARIES.
ITS SIMPLE. THE LAWYERS WERE SMART. THEY KNEW THAT THOSE CLAIMS WERE CHILDISH AND WERE GOING TO BE THROWN AWAY IMMEDIATELY.

  7. UPND is a party of shallow minded people and should never be allowed to run this country. PF won over 100 MPs including some independents who are actually PF but stood as independent because of adoption differences. Voting in Zambia is partisan, meaning one votes for MP and corresponding President. It is very stupid for UPND to continue claiming victory with only 58 Mps mainly from the tribal vote. When the petition was in process, UPND spent time on preliminary and useless issues like the President should step down without providing any evidence and up to now they are just yapping like this prostitute Doreen. Just shut up and try the next time you nikompomps

  11. For those who are still being misled by politicians who have no respect for this country-currently there is no court in Zambia or earth for that matter, that is hearing any case about whether HH or Lungu won the election. The case going on at the high court is about whether rights were violated by the Constitutional Court for refusing to extend the constitutional 14 days in which the petition was to be heard. Otherwise for those of us who observed the circus, we long concluded HH’s lawyers knew there was no case to present and that is why they failed to present any argument or evidence in the 14 days allowed for by the constitution. AS ZAMBIANS LET US GUARD AND REJECT INDIVIDUALS WHO WOULD LOVE TO SEE THIS COUNTRY IN TURMOIL FOR THEIR SELFISH AND CLEARLY SATANIC AMBITIONS. WE REFUSE LIES, TRIBAL SEGREGATION AND EVIL IN THIS COUNTRY. LET GOD’S FAVOR AND PEACE REIGN IN THIS NATION. ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION
