HH to meet ‘compromised’ UN boss Janet Rogan

UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema is this Wednesday expected to hold talks with United Nations (UN) resident coordinator Janet Rogan.

The UN boss is accused of being compromised by the ruling Patriotic Front (PF) party with key political players and analysts calling on the UN headquarters to recall her from Zambia.

Last week after she held talks with Zambia’s disputed Head of State, Edgar Lungu, at State House, a statement under the presidency was issued ridiculing the Commonwealth over Zambia’s peace talks.

Janet Rogan is also allegedly embroiled in election tampering in Zambia.

As at today, UPND Deputy Secretary General Patrick Mucheleka wrote to Janet Rogan seeking a meeting between her and Zambia’s main opposition leader, Hakainde Hichilema.

It remains unclear what will come out of this meeting or indeed if the alleged lame duck UN chief in Zambia will accord Hichilema a meeting opportunity.

Last week, the UPND disclosed that the UN in Zambia under the leadership of Janet Rogan has failed to live by its core values as its local leaders keep cosying up to the PF leaders mainly and only.
