The hero’s welcome given to Bahati Member of Parliament Harry Kalaba in Mansa has send panic to President Lungu, an insider has told Zambian Eye.

Thusands of PF members from different constituencies in Luapula province gave Kalaba a hero’s welcome when he arrived in Mansa today, Friday, January 19, 2018.

This is the first time Kalaba is visiting Mansa where his constituency is after he resigned as Minister of Foreign Affairs citing corruption in government.

President Lungu was disturbed with the images of the welcome and according to the source said how could the intelligence failed to forsee this. He said the reception was going to send a wrong signal that the party in Luapula was not with him.

Luapula province gave the PF the highest votes in the last three elections – 2011, 2015 and 2016.

The Head of State according to the source felt misinformed about the situation on the ground. After Kalaba’s resignation some sponsored stage-managed protests were organised calling for Kalaba’s expulsion from PF.

  2. Overrating oneself and renting a croud in your backyard is nothing but self deceit .
We have over the years seen people cry foul after losing elections for they believed that the far much bigger rallies they had would translate into votes but then not everyone who attends your rally will actually vote for you .
Take for instance the rallies that ECL had in southern & western provinces etc did not translate into votes .
So the young man must be ready for such dissappointments .
