Fire tender protesters who were arrested on Friday at Parliament have been released on bond.

The Protesters were released Friday evening on police bond of K2000 each.

Opposition PeP Sean Tembo who was among those arrested has confirmed the development.

“This is to advise that we have been released from the unlawful detention by the Zambia Police Service following our lawful protest at Parliament this afternoon over the $42 million fire tender scandal,” Tembo said.

Those arrested were six and include Alliance for Community Action executive director Laura Miti and Musician Pilato. They were charged with the offence of “disobeying lawful orders” contrary to clause 127 Cap 87 of the laws of Zambia.

  1. Some of these protests are shameful, and shows how ignorant the demonstraters are how do you really fight what is not wrong you should first research or inquire from the informed .
It just shows how shallow some politicians can be how do you really spend time doing what you know is wrong and at the end of the day everyone will be laughing at you .
