The 2015 FAZ Annual General meeting will reconvene on Saturday, October 10 2015 to conclude business, which was adjourned sine die when the FAZ law makers met in March this year.

At the 2015 AGM in Kabwe, Association President, Kalusha Bwalya advised that the proposal on the restructuring of the leagues as suggested by NOPAFA (Northern Province Amateur Football Association) needed time to digest and think through. In line with this advice, the FAZ Executive appointed a three man committee to consider and deliberate the changes to the Zambian league. Those appointed were Jeff Chipilingu, Happie Munkondya and Lee Kawanu. Club Licencing Manager, Erick Mwanza is the secretary of this committee.

“This committee has since gone round the country and interacted with the FAZ lawmakers who have welcomed the proposed structure and revealed enthusiasm to enact it as soon as possible. Therefore the Zambian football family will converge in Lusaka at the Government complex to chart a new dawn for the beautiful game” Association Spokesman, Nkweto Tembwe told @fazzfootball.com.

The new Zambian league will see the increase of Super league teams from 16 to 18. Division One which currently has two streams (North and South) will now have four streams of 16 teams.(North , South West and East)

“All these measures are aimed at bettering the game in Zambia by increasing the number of matches played in the super league from the current 30 to 34 in a year and also reducing the long recess that the Zambian league is currently having which is close to 90 days” Tembwe added.

When passed into law the new league will have to commence in February.
