Electricity tariffs increased by 75%

As we reported last week, the PF government has now announced a 75% electricity tariff increament.

The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) announced the development in a statement below to Zambian Eye.

This is part of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) bailout conditions with the PF Government.

Zambia had graduated from the IMF programmes but the PF Government recklessness in borrowing and spending has taken the country back to the painful IMF economic conditions.

What this simply means is that the cost of doing business will further go higher and products will have to be increased.

  3. Nobody should complain because this is what some foolish Zambians wanted in the name of ”IFINTU NI LUNGU”, ”UMUNTU NI LUNGU” and with the folly in their heads, they campaigned and travelled around the country hoodwinking the under privileged. Edgar Lungu after losing the elections went further to steal that which did not belong to him so he could exert more pain to the already suffering Zambian masses. The tax paid by Zambians is absolutely painful and unwarranted for. While in other countries within the same region Zambia falls, the tax ratios/ percentages are being lowered the Zambian government is doing quite the opposite by abnormally increasing the tax base. All they want is to please those in government who get free money and free everything and thereby disadvantage the already suffering Zambians. Where is the humbleness of the so called Edgar Lungu ? I for one, I have no time to support such nonsense because the PF government is a disaster to Zambia.

  4. We have to complain my brother. We were expecting that pf will do well. Am terribly regretting why I voted for them. These guys promised us lower taxes and more money in the pocket. But alas what they are doing is the exact opposite. I regret in voting for this stupid government. I have seen that this Government is the worst this country has ever had. Whilst we suffer, they are busy stealing from us poor zambian. I can’t wait for 2021 or the petition to be heard. This government is evil.

  7. When we were saying Lungu is visionless and Clueless some people did not believe it and they are now Dununa Regreting. They should not lose hope though but rally behind the Petitioners to correct their mistakes. With the Illegitimate Lungu in power illegally people should expect more Chipante pante ways of doing things. After stealing the 2016 Election ,Lungu now wants to achieve his sole Project of turning Zambia into a One Man Party Dictatorship and Rule Zambia like Mugabe is doing in Zimbabwe. Anybody opposed to this project is an Enemy and being crushed by Lungu. The Petitioners are being persecuted for Petitioning the Election of Lungu and refusing to recognise Lungu’s Illegitimate Presidency. ICC,LAZ,Parliament of Zambia etc are under attack from the Lungu Regime becoz they are perceived to be enemies of Lungu’s Dictatorship Project. All those opposed to Lungu’s Dictatorship Project must rally behind the Petitioners and make sure the Petition is heard in an Independent Court. We are confident that Lungu the Vote Thief will lose the case and allow the Legitimate Winner of the 2016 Election Rule Zambia. We don’t want Zambia to be destroyed by Lungu and his fellow Criminals. Let the Petition be heard without fail.
