Dora rips into Kalaba

Agriculture Minister Dora Siliya says former Foreign Affairs Minister Harry Kalaba’s claims of corruption in government are baseless, but an effort to justify his resignation.

Siliya, who Spoke to Mellennium Radio, said it is extremely disheartening that Kalaba is beginning to have “delusions” on corruption in government.

She said blanket statements without substantiating the corruption allegation are only damaging his reputation.

Siliya added that it is unbecoming, for people that held senior government positions like Kalaba trying to gain popularity by disparaging the same government that has helped them get to where they are.

She further said that she remains hopeful that Kalaba would reflect and desist from disparaging his former colleagues and calls for some modicum of decency when dealing with govt matters.

Kalaba has been at the receiving end verbal attacks from PF officials and government alike since he quit his Ministerial position as Foreign Affairs Minister on 2nd January 2018.

In Luapula party officials demonstrated at the provincial administration office where they petitioned the President of the party Edgar Lungu to expel him from the party while Luanshya Mayor Nathan Chanda who issued a statement on behalf of the youths from Copperbelt challenged Kalaba to resign as PF Bahati MP and live the party.
