PF Member Jonas Shakafuswa who is also former Member of Parliament for Katuba has charged those entrusted with running the country not to misuse the public funds saying this is not their mother’s country.

Shakafuswa says those given responsibility to be in government forget that they do so on behalf of the people. He says they only realise so when time to account come.

He says time is coming when those in government will be made to account for all the money they are stealing.

Shakafuswa who was commenting on former South Africa President Jacob Zuma who appeared in court on Friday facing 16 counts of corruption, says it doesn’t matter whether he is a member of the ruling party, Patriotic Front (PF) saying that is the truth.

Here is Shakafuswa take:
When the powerful are humbled. We tend to take governance as Katemba. Feeling the world belongs to you. But when the owners asks for accountability, that’s when the reality dawns. The country belongs to the people. Not leaders and their supporters. Doing business with government one should realize that it is not private anymore. Expect Task Force. The truth, Teshi Chishi Chabanyoko.
