The PF on the Copperbelt have thanked MPs, business entities and other stakeholders for sharing with the people during the festive season.

In a statement, provincial chairperson Stephan Kainga said the gesture shown by all the people who shared cannot go unnoticed.

Kainga said such gestures help government in bettering the lives of people and called on those involved to continue partnering with government in alleviating the suffering in the country.

“The gesture shown by the MPs, individuals and business entities cannot go unnoticed and unappreciated as they supplement Government’s efforts in bettering the lives of the people.

“The PF Government is premised on bettering the lives of the people especially the vulnerable in society and such gestures must be encouraged.

“As a leadership we call upon MPs, individuals and corporate world to partner with Government in alleviating poverty and bettering the lives of the less privileged in society as Government alone cannot without support. It is only through concerted effort that we can achieve this goal,” he said.

Kainga highlighted some of the people who donated various goods to the needy, among them Kwacha MP Joe Malanji and Kabushi MP Bowman Lusambo who donated food staffs in their constituencies.

“We therefore want to applaud Kwacha East MP Hon Joe Malanji for donating 600 bags of mealie meal to his constituents based on his promise of uniting the constituency. We further applaud the gesture by our provincial minister Bowman Lusambo who is also Kabushi MP for donating more than 2,000 bags of mealie meal and blankets to women and the aged and painting 200 houses in his constituency.

“We would further like to commend the church and Local Authorities who donated various goods to babies born on Christmas and New Year, this cannot go unappreciated.

“Further we would like to thank friends of the party such as Professor Gibson Mwewa who from his personal funds helped orphans and vulnerable children in Ndola and further pledged to sponsor a child to university as a way of supplementing Government’s effort,” he said.

Kainga added: “furthermore, I wish to thank our friends from the small mines association commonly known as Jerabos led by our friend  ‘Chile 1’ for also donating assorted food staffs among them mealie-meal and cooking oil to selected townships of Kitwe. We say guys keep up the spirit and work for the people of Kitwe and surrounding areas.

“It is our desire that we continue working together as a party and embrace one another to continue fostering development across the country a message his Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu has been preaching.”
