CBU Student grab gun 1Students at the Copperbelt University today fought running battles with the police.

CBU Student grab helmetDuring the fight the Students grabbed teargas canister, a gun and three helmets from the police.

The students according to their Union leader are saying enough is enough. They refused to be addressed by the Minister of Higher Education.

“We have listened to him a lot, enough is enough,” the student union leader told our correspondent.

The Students started their protest yesterday and so far 36 have been arrested. A Police vehicle was damaged.

  4. Lawlessness has never taken any country anywhere. Other learning institutions are providing for themselves. Maybe all learning institutions should fully sponsor themselves and there will be no riots anymore.

  6. The solution is simple and straight forward.PAY THE ALLOWANCES PERIOD.
    When the student are hungry,it is not the duty of the opposition to feed them.Why then blame them when they riot?
    There is lawlesness everywhere and you have a president crsi crossing the globe.Now on the way to see the Pope,for what?How much will be involved interms of allowances,tickets accomodation of the delegation,air tickets etc.
    We need to be serous for once!

  10. I recommend some cbu guys to be police officers.
    Take them to Kamfinsa for training.
    Police officers should not be hard on students.
    These police guys also need allowances. But are doing the opposite instead of helping students.
    It is not good to attack students in their dorms.
    The police should have limits. They should just control students outside the dorms.
