President Lungu’s Supporter Chilufya Tayali says the Patriotic Front (PF) is losing grounds following defections of senior party members to the opposition UPND.

Tayali admits that things have become difficult for PF saying if nothing is done then President Lungu is headed for defect in August 11 general elections.
” But you have to know that, I support PF and I want ECL to win the 2016 elections and therefore I do whatever I can even waking up in the middle of the night to contribute.
However, I want to state it here that, I see a problem, the President listens but I don’t know to who. The President has a good heart but I don’t know who is benefiting from his good heart and at whose expense,” says Tayali.
Below is Tayali’s take on the current political standings:
I have always said that, Edgar Lungu and PF have the goodwill of the majority Zambians. People still have some hope in Edgar Lungu and PF.
However, in the last 3 months Edgar has been on the ropes receiving blows from HH politically.
Truth be told, HH and UPND have gained so much grounds that if the trend continues in the next one month, Edgar Lungu must forget about winning because it would be too late to counter.
One of the best ways for a politician to lose an election, is to stop listening to people or defending everything instead of acknowledging weaknesses and failures.
These days some PF members are calling me a traitor because I am saying what I am seeing and what people are telling me.
You have to appreciate the fact that in spite of my support for you (ECL and PF) I am still a civil activist and I will endeavor to speak for the people. The best that you can do is listen otherwise you are losing grounds.
When I bring out something many PF cadres want to look more wise than me that I should have told the President directly instead of bringing it in the public.
I want you to understand that, it is not respect and in order for me to come out here and say whatever I have communicated with the President. But you have to know that, I support PF and I want ECL to win the 2016 elections and therefore I do whatever I can even waking up in the middle of the night to contribute.
However, I want to state it here that, I see a problem, the President listens but I don’t know to who. The President has a good heart but I don’t know who is benefiting from his good heart and at whose expense.
I am looking forward to the launch of the Edgar Lungu manifesto on the 14th May 2016. Thereafter I hope strategies will change otherwise PF is in disarray in as far as campaigns are concerned. What you are seeing holding PF is the goodwill of people.
You can’t talk of a campaign team which is composed by a few people in Lusaka (at State House) and move around with the President wherever he goes.
Many cadres don’t even know who to follow. I don’t even know where Kampyongo is to organise the youths. Does Kampyongo even have resources?
You can’t count the people that comes to your rally because you have carried all the musicians in Lusaka. That is free entertainment so people come as to whether they will vote for you is another issue which require another strategy.
It is not enough to use the methods of RB of commissioning this and that when you know very well that it did not help the old man. If anything RB had a far better campaign strategies and teams throughout the Country but he lost.
I am very pleased with the strategies of Mumbi Phiri because she is engaging the people one on one other than the arrogant way of confronting people of Frank Bwalya as if he was not even a Priest. Instead of reconciling with people he is busy creating enemies within and outside the party.
I don’t know what’s happening with some people at State House who are supposed to be in the forefront leading the campaigns. Has Kaizer Zulu been fired or what? The President cannot afford to be lukewarm at the moment, bola naikosa.
For political reasons, I would rather Given Lubinda goes because ECL can’t just trust him, while KZ can be corrupt but uses all the money on his cadres (after all ananipasako 10 pin…Kikikikiki)
You may not like Emmanuel Mwamba but you need him to boost Frank Bwalya (don’t fire him even if he is asking for it) before it is too late. Bring also Mukwita, then put Dora at the centre. Give Hon Dr Chishimba Kambwili a chopper. Tell all those who have made money out of PF to pay tithe to PF. Davies Chama get on the ground and let the campaign begins.
I don’t want to go to Congo, I can’t speak French to campaign for my brother Katumbi.

  3. Atleast the chap started well but ended up messing every single word in his analysis. Kambwili cannot be compared to Given lubinda. Given though cited corrupt by Tayali is far much better than Kambwili. However, my own opinion is that PF has really lost it. I dont see them winning the 50 +1 votes. At this moment I agree with tayali in his first narration though went out of topic. This moment a politician must receive every vote joining the party its very important.

  4. HH must be careful .Let him not be overwhelmed with massive defections. He must position himself strategically. He must remember that it is difficult to change the voting patterns that voted for PF and UPND in 2015 presidential by-elections. Therefore he must use very strong instruments to convince to PF strong holds to vote him. He must to tell the people of Zambia issue based campaigns not only for the sake of winning elections but to full fill the promises.

  7. Amazing that this chap would sink so low and talk about the 10pin he was given by KZ and tops it up with a kikikki, and since when did pf become a money making machine for them and what business ventures are they involved in as party to start paying tithe?

  15. Ba UPND I now understand why Chishimba Kambwilli says UPND Is only strong on Facebook. Test the waters first and don’t comfort yourselves that you only lost by 27,000 votes this time bane it’s a totally different ball game.

  16. Mambwe in as much as the Pf remains on power after elections then I can assure you that the people of Zambia will remain suffering. The PF called the Rupiah and the entire MMD as failure but the MMD manged to pull through the times recession and the economy remained stable unlike this time. Lets not try to impress the PF even when we can see they are losing direction. Yes there could be some areas where they have performed well credit goes to them. Now look at the foreign direct investment PF have failed to attract .Look at the utterances of Chishimba Kambwili the so called Dr. Kambwili can definitely scare way the investor confidence in Zambia. Lungu must be very careful because people like Kalaba are very dangerous. lets met tomorrow goodbye
