Finance Minister Felix Mutati has warned that Civil Servants should be ready for worse delayed salaries next year as the country has no money to pay them on time.

Mutati explained that the September and October salaries delayed because the government had no where to borrow money from. He however explained that by 2021, civil servants will be receiving their dues on time as the economy will have stabilized.

“We spent a lot of money on projects so we have no enough money in our coffers. Public workers should be ready for more hard times and I can only emphasize on the lead for financial discipline. I have to this effect banned Ministers and any government executive officers from using first class tickets when travelling on planes,”he said, adding that things will be okay by 2021.

“In 2021, we will recruit more public workers and increase salaries to all our workers by 50% because our economy will have improved,” he said.
