The Auditor General has cited irregularities in the awarding of tenders for projects for the coming United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) general assembly.

Auditor General Anna Chinfungula said there were some connivance in the manner some contracts were allegedly given out ahead of the UNWTO.

Chinfungula said at the ended Agriculture and Commercial in Lusaka on Monday August 5, 2013 that many of the contracts that were given are dubious in nature.

She said there are a lot of suspicious in the manner in which the contracts were given out.

Zambia and Zimbabwe are later this month expected to jointly host the UNTWO.

There has been a number of contracts given out to renovate some structures to make them to standard ahead of the tourism general conference.

  2. The AG must b have carried out pre contract special audits rather than post contract audit as the case maybe with this story.Zambianeye the story is not detailed enough.Leaves much questions unanswered.
