The Supreme Court in Zambia has uphold the High Court’s ruling to nullify the Malambo parliamentary seat in Eastern province.
This was after Malambo Member of Parliament Maxwell Mwale appealed the High Court decision to nullify his election last year 2012. But on Wednesday June 19, 2013, the Supreme upheld the decision in its ruling on .
This is among the latest nullification which will yet again result in another by election.
And the Patriotic Front (PF) which has been blamed for causing un-necessary by-election has rejoiced at the development. The PF which is focused in consolidating power in the national assembly said it will win the seat.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia is soon expected to announce the date of the by election.
The country is this month holding one by election in Feira, Luangwa District while four others will be held next month.
