PF is increasing number of deputy ministers for effective operations says Sakeni

The governing Patriotic Front party has abandoned its earlier position of having a mini government as a way of cost serving in order to push resources in social sectors.

The PF government now says it has increased a number of Deputy Ministers to operate effective, the position they had condemned when they were in opposition. They critized MMD for having two deputy ministers in some ministeries.

But just 10 months in government the PF is going the same way but with more deputy ministers than the previous regime. On Friday President Sata swore in four more Members of Parliament as Deputy Ministers.
Zambia is a very big country and therefore it requires an effective and efficient government to run its business in a more effective manner, Chief Government Spokesperson Kennedy Sakeni told a Lusaka private owned radio station, QFM.

According Mr. Sakeni, the PF government has now realized that there a lot of challenges within the government which need to be addressed in a more comprehensive manner.

The PF had promised Zambians in the run up to elections that once ushered in government they would run the affairs of the country different and better than the MMD.
