Former PF Secretary General Edward Mumbi (left)has come out of retirement and joined opposition UPND.
Mr. Mumbi who before his retirement had joined MMD and was in the campaign team of ex-president Rupiah Banda in the 2011 tripartite elections announced his come back on Tuesday at the UPND Secretariat in Lusaka.
He says he has decided to come back and contribute towards the development of the country. Mr. Mumbi says the PF is not lived upto its promises that made Zambians give them power in 2011 polls.
He was received by UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema’s political adviser, Douglas Siakalima. Just a fortnight ago outspoken MMD Lusaka province chairperson, William Banda and Pro-MMD civic leader Edwin Lifwekelo joined the UPND
And UPND has appointed Edwin Lifwekelo as Vice Chairperson Publicity and Information. The UPND also appointed Billiard Makwembo and Llyod Buumba as Provincial Chairman and Vice respectively.
The two provincial leaders are taking over from Mr. Gideon Shakalima and John Chidyka who resigned as Chair and vice chair respectively citing frustrations as some of the reasons. The duo are now just ordinary members.
